Similarities in working conditions between MTG and MTO:
Both MTG and MTO are fixed bed technology, and are executed in circles by reaction system and regeneration system. Both the reaction and regeneration reaction temperature are over 500°C, with the hydrocarbon as the material in reaction system and high-temperature air In regeneration system.
Problems of butterfly valve in MTG:
When the butterfly valve is used, the cooling is required during switching of production system and regeneration system, which leaks seriously in the alternate cooling and heating process. The butterfly valve need to be mounted with a blind plate to ensure safe operation on the spot, and it need to be switched by hand.
Advantages of wedge within wedge gate valve replacing butterfly valve:
With far less leakage rate than butterfly valve and higher safety, one gate valve can replace two butterfly valves, having excellent economic benefits.
